Monitoring Plan
This document outlines the procedures that a ship operator uses to monitor and report CO2 emissions. It includes:
The methodology for fuel consumption measurement.
Methods for determining cargo, distance traveled, and time at sea.
A description of the emission sources onboard.
Emission Report
This must be submitted annually and includes:
Total CO2 emissions for voyages to/from or within European Economic Area (EEA) ports.
Cargo carried.
Distance traveled and time spent at sea.
Average energy efficiency parameters.
Verification Report (Verifier's Document)
A registered independent verifier must validate the data in the Emission Report, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the MRV Regulation.
Document of Compliance (DoC)
Once the Emission Report is verified, the verifier issues a Document of Compliance, which must be kept onboard and available to authorities.
SEEMP (Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan) Part II
This is a key document that must include the methodology for collecting and reporting fuel consumption data for each ship. It also outlines how data on fuel oil consumption, distance travelled, and hours underway are collected and reported to the IMO.
Annual Fuel Consumption Report
The fuel consumption report must cover the entire calendar year and include:
Fuel consumption data by fuel type.
Distance travelled.
Hours underway.
Emission Verification Report (Verifier's Document)
A registered independent verifier must review and verify the accuracy of the fuel consumption data and submit an Emission Verification Report.
Statement of Compliance (SoC)
Issued by the Flag State or an authorized organization after verification of the fuel consumption data. This must be retained on board and made available for inspection by authorities..
